First ever event of its kind in Carson City:  A Watercolor Painting Competition.  No this is not like watching paint dry.  You can stroll the shaded autumn colored streets of Carson City’s Historic District and watch artists paint “En Plein Air”.  Painters will be working in the open air October 14-16; a free watercolor  demonstration at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall and lastly the main event:  a Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion with fun activities, door prize, live music, appetizers, and a Silent Auction to bid for contenders and winners’ work on October 17 starting at 1pm.  With exception of the ticketed reception and awards ceremony, which is a fundraiser ($45 early, $55 after October 11th) for CIRCLES and a scholarship to WNC, all open air events are free.
