SUMMARY:The National Veterans Creative Arts Local Competition
DESCRIPTION:VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and McKinley Galleries \nExhibition: Aug. 5 – Sept. 13\, 2024 \nReception: Thursday\, Aug. 15\, 5-7 p.m. \nVA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and the City of Reno’s Arts and Culture Department have teamed up to offer veterans a chance to demonstrate their artistic talents in the visual arts at the McKinley Arts & Culture Center Galleries. The local event is part of the 2024 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. The exhibition will run from Aug. 5 – Sept. 13\, 2024\, at McKinley Arts and Culture Center. \n\nVA medical facilities incorporate creative arts into their therapy programs to further the rehabilitation goals for both inpatients and outpatients. This annual competition recognizes the progress and recovery made through that therapy and raises the visibility of the creative achievements of veterans.
