Edmondo always had an interest in art and eventually graduated from college with a degree in graphic design from the University of the Pacific. Edmondo not only studied graphic design\, but he also studied painting under the tutelage of Master Pastelist and painter Gil Dellinger. Jon now lives close to the Sierra Nevada\, where he spends much of his time enjoying the outdoors with his wife and two daughters.\nThe creative process has always intrigued Edmondo\, and he constantly strives to create strong compositions with bold color and interesting subject matter. Edmondo states\, “I yearn to create images of places or things that create an emotional connection for the viewer – evoking special memories of places visited or past experiences”. Edmondo has been influenced by the French Impressionists and early California artists like William Wendt\, Edgar Payne\, Thomas Hill\, and Albert Bierstadt. He is also influenced by many contemporary artists such as Matt Smith\, Scott Christiansen\, Jean LeGassick\, Clyde Aspevig\, and others. Edmondo enjoys viewing and studying other artists’ work to learn more about what makes a great painting!\nBefore Edmondo leaves this land of ours\, he hopes to deliver work that is bold\, fresh\, and reflects his love of visual design and nature!

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate 20 years of public art with Commissioner James B. Gibson and the Clark County Public Arts Office! The ZAP! Utility Box program—which showcases local artists and brightens our streets—is marking its 20th anniversary at Sunset Park. Come enjoy the fresh air and see how public art transforms our community. \nThe ZAP 20th Anniversary will be held on Friday\, April 24\, from 3-6 p.m. at Sunset Park\, and will feature live painting by three local artists\, art vendors\, and live entertainment. Attendees will learn the history of ZAP through the pop-up ZAP museum\, meet some of the past ZAP artists\, and experience a performance from the Clark County Poet Laureate. Attendees can also participate in the ZAP raffle to win Clark County Public Arts memorabilia\, sign up for a short bird walk with the Red Rock Audubon Society\, and create mini-ZAP boxes through the workshop led by a past ZAP artist. \nThe Clark County Public Arts Office will also unveil the new ZAP logo\, created by one of the original ZAP artists\, Shan Michael Evans. Evans created the original ZAP logo back in 2005 and recently revamped it for ZAP’s 20th anniversary. \nDuring the event\, Commissioner Gibson will highlight the 12 ZAP 20 artists who recently designed and painted 13 boxes around Sunset Park this past winter. \n“Clark County’s ZAP program continues to highlight local artists and beautify our neighborhoods. 20 years is a wonderful milestone for this program\, and we look forward to more years of public art to come\,” Gibson said. “The ZAP 20 boxes have given color and life to Sunset Park\, adding more places for the community to enjoy public art.” \nZAP 20 consists of 12 local artists who were chosen to paint 13 utility boxes in and around Sunset Park. DESCRIPTION:Join Nevada Humanities and narrative designer Ashley Warren at the third annual LegendCon taking place at East Las Vegas Library on Saturday\, April 25\, 2026. During this session\, participants will join Warren to learn more about TRPGs as a collaborative storytelling medium and the creation of Loreloop: The World We Live In\, The World We Create. Loreloop was created by Nevada Humanities and is inspired by Nevada’s past\, present\, and future. Participants will be guided through creating their own Loreloop characters and learn about the project’s development. \nA tabletop role-playing game is an interactive group story where your decisions determine the outcome. Participants will embark on a mission from Loreloop to solve a mystery in an abandoned atomic testing community. Exploring an underground laboratory uncovers one scientist’s dream of a better future. \nNo previous tabletop gaming experience needed. Participants will then drive to the Pole Canyon Trailhead in Great Basin National Park where Karnehm-Esh will lead a two-mile hike on this easy-moderate trail with low elevation gain. DESCRIPTION:City of Reno City Hall\nMetro Gallery\nApril 27 – June 18\, 2026\nReception: Thursday\, May 12\, 2026 5–7 p.m. \nReno\, Nevada – Metro Gallery presents Notions of Erasure: United By Territory\, an exhibit that provides an opportunity for the residents and visitors of Reno to view selected works\nfrom the 2023 Nevada Arts Council Visual Arts Fellows. \nThis traveling exhibition\, curated by the Nevada Arts Council’s Artist Services Program\, features 2023 fellows: Jeffrey Burden of Las Vegas\, Glynn Cartledge of Reno\, Gig Depio\nof Las Vegas\, Miya Hannan of Reno\, Brent Holmes of Las Vegas\, and Bobbie Ann Howell of Las Vegas. Each artist created work independently of one another and with no\nintention of ever appearing together; yet\, when shown alongside one another\, the exhibit reveals how an artist’s place\, time and environment can create unexpected\nand unintended connections that share human experiences. DESCRIPTION:“Notions of Erasure: United By Territory”Nevada Arts Council\nCity of Reno City HallMetro Gallery\nApril 27 – June 18\, 2026\nThe Metro Gallery presents Notions of Erasure: United By Territory\, an exhibit that provides an opportunity for the residents and visitors to view selected works from the 2023 Nevada Arts Council Visual Arts Fellows.\nThis traveling exhibition\, curated by the Nevada Arts Council’s Artist Services Program\, features 2023 fellows: Jeffrey Burden of Las Vegas\, Glynn Cartledge of Reno\, Gig Depio of Las Vegas\, Miya Hannan of Reno\, Brent Holmes of Las Vegas\, and Bobbie Ann Howell of Las Vegas. Each artist created work independently of one another and with no intention of ever appearing together; yet\, when shown alongside one another\, the exhibit reveals how an artist’s place\, time and environment can create unexpected and unintended connections that share human experiences. This exhibit brings together an extraordinary collection of unique artworks that span multiple media—from intimate drawings and bold paintings to intricate textiles\, delicate cut paper compositions\, and innovative digital creations.\nThe prestigious Nevada Arts Council Fellowship Award provides meaningful financial support and enhanced public recognition to exceptional Nevada artists\, fostering their continued pursuit of artistic excellence and creativity.\nThe exhibit is part of the Nevada Touring Initiative (NTI) Traveling Exhibition Program which delivers high-quality visual arts exhibits to communities throughout the state. It is funded by the State of Nevada and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Nevada Arts Council is a division of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for “Art with Heart\,” a free creative workshop series generously funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. The program is designed to support self-expression\, connection\, and healing through art. Open to ages 15 and older\, this series guides participants through clay and oil pastel projects in a supportive\, community-centered environment. No artistic experience needed \nMondays\, 10:30 a.m.-noon\, beginning April 27 through June 15\, 2026.  (No Class – May 25 and June 8). Sponsored by the Suicide Prevention Network (SPN) Douglas County\, Nevada. All Supplies Included. \nSessions led by Nevada Arts Council Roster Artist/Inventor of the Oil Pastel Smudge technique: Carol Foldvary-Anderson. She will be guiding us though some exciting ways to play with air dry clay for the first session of 6\, later creating beautiful art of hearts working with a template of simple shapes in the medium of oil pastel. All classes and exhibit will be held at the Douglas County Minden Library. \nGroup workshops are an exciting place to gather and share conversation.  The Suicide Prevention Network (SPN) and health statistics have found bringing people together in art activities is healing.
