Qwanqwa an Ethiopian workshop and music experiance
QWANQWA’s workshops open the eyes of the participants to a greater world view, expose them to a new culture of Ethiopia through a variety of inroads, and enrich what they already may know about the culture and its people. Members of the band will demonstrate traditional instruments, describing the materials and how they were made from simple materials. Life in Death Festival
The Life in Death Festival will be held on November 1st and 2nd, 2022 at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center and will feature performances on stage each day with Mexican dance troupes and readings of “calaveras,” or “skulls,” which are poems, usually humorous, written “in memory” of people who are still alive.
