Caitlin Bell (McCarty) is a writer, dancer, dance teacher, and choreographer who spent much of her young life dancing, teaching, and creating throughout Reno, Nevada. Bell attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where she studied English, writing, and dance. Upon graduating, she moved to New York City, where she worked for Brooklyn-based, award-winning contemporary dance company Gallim Dance. While at Gallim, Bell acted as the company's only full-time associate and oversaw the company's education program, collegiate outreach program, touring, development, and much more. While in New York, she was able to study dance both at her place of work and at the prestigious Mark Morris Dance Center, taking classes from noted dancers and choreographers such as Sidra Bell, Navarra Novy-Williams, and Julia Ehrstrand.
Bell is a locally and nationally published writer, writing articles for Dance Magazine and local Reno publications. Her passion for dance, dance education, and the arts are wide and diverse. She is interested in the correlation between dance and text and the connection between the arts and sciences. She has the utmost passion for teaching others the importance of dance and movement in the classroom and how it pertains to the ""real world."" She is certified to teach Dance for PD, an international dance program of the Mark Morris Dance Group. Bell has her Master of Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Bell is the founder and artistic director of the Reno-based contemporary dance company Collateral and Co. It was founded in 2017 and has performed throughout Northern Nevada since its inception.

School & Community Workshops
Creative Movement Workshop for Students K-12
Dance elements are taught through academic subject matter that pertains to the student and his/her grade level according to Nevada Core Arts Standards. With the elements in mind, students create a dance with the intent to perform, understand, analyze, and discover. Through suggestion, improvisation, and dance technique, the student is able to create a dance while simultaneously understanding academic subject matter to meet evolving objectives in both movement and academia.
Arts Integration Movement Workshop for K-12 Educators
Educators learn to efficiently and effectively teach students basic dance and movement elements using verbalization and improvisation. The educator will be able to integrate movement in their classroom, using it as a vehicle to teach academic lessons in science, math, language arts, or social sciences. Through familiarization with movement terms and ideas, the teacher will be able to recall information that will be useful and will allow them to reach evolving objectives in both their subject matter and movement.
Dance for PD
The Dance for PD® program strives to increase coordination, balance, flexibility, and strength through music and movement from a broad range of dance styles. This class nurtures collaborations among people with Parkinson’s, care partners, and health professionals to provide transformative, life-enhancing opportunities that celebrate creativity, community, movement and music.
