HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

As part of the America250 commemoration, Nevada artists experienced in murals and public art can apply for Nevada Arts Council FY26 America250 Target of Opportunity grants.

Local artists will be paired with a Nevada municipality to create murals or public art that visually share stories that have shaped Nevada.

The commemorative cycle will award $275,000 to support America250 initiatives throughout the state. The goal is to have representation in all 17 counties and Nevada tribal nations.

We encourage concepts that align with Our Nevada Stories Project, a collaboration between the Division of Museums and History and state folklorist Brad McMullen.

All funded projects/activities must be completed by the grant period of performance. Grantees must complete the Final Report by the deadline stated in the award packet.

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

All applicants must meet the Nevada Arts Council’s general eligibility requirements for individuals:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal permanent resident status
  • Must be a current Nevada resident and have been in residence for at least one year prior to the date of the grant application
  • Must not be enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a field related to the type of grant for which they are applying
