Welcome to the 9th Annual Aaron Huisman Desert Art Contest.
Open to all artists in the following disciplines: Painting/Drawing (oils, watercolor, crayon, pencil, pen and ink); Sculpture (clay, metal, wood, mixed media)
No Photography. All entries must be original handmade work celebrating the desert landscape representing rural Nevada.
Entries are limited to one piece per Category. 1. Painting/Drawing; 2. Sculpture
The judging will be done by three independent judges. Awards will be announced on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026, at 4 p.m. at the Upper Stage in Cottonwood Park. All artists are encouraged to be there.
Artists are responsible for the display, set-up and take down of their artwork. The room coordinator shall designate the table for each category and age group. Any display items required are the responsibility of the artist.
