Professional Experience:

• Over 30 years of performing experience as a jazz guitarist (jazz combo, jazz big band, jazz solo), composer, bandleader of the Shapiro Project Jazz quartet, and arranger
• Released three albums with original jazz music: “True Colors,” (TNC Jazz Recordings, 2002), “Open Road,” (2005, C&P), and “Planet X” (C&P, 2019)
• Shared the stage with Marlena Shaw, Sandy Duncan, Carl Fontana, Michel Legrand, Herb Pomeroy, Walt Weiskopf, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Jiggs Whigham, Ed Soph, Art Van Damme, Stefan Karlsson, Tom Warrington, and Pat Kelly
• Festivals played: International Association of Jazz Educators, (Los Angeles, California), Spirit of Music Festival (San Francisco, California), Fremont Street Jazz Festival (Las Vegas), Telluride Jazz Festival, (Telluride, Colorado), Tulsa University Jazz Festival (Tulsa, Oklahoma), and Wichita Jazz Festival (Wichita, Kansas)
• Organizer for International Jazz Day, sponsored by UNESCO and Herbie Hancock Institute: put together annual concerts on April 30 since 2016
• Main local Las Vegas venues played: The Smith Center Jazz Cabaret, Jazz in the Park (Clark County Government Amphitheater), Jazz on the Lake (Lake Las Vegas), Henderson ArtFest (every year since 2006), Balloona Palooza (North Las Vegas), Henderson Pavilion, Lloyd D George Courthouse, West Las Vegas Library, West Charleston Library, Rainbow Library, most casinos on the Strip
