Kelly Louise Allen is a Sierra-based plein air painter with a loose, realistic style.
Working in oil, using color and value, shape and texture, she paint the rugged western landscape and the scars we’ve left behind.
Our environment has a strong impact on her. From old mining towns and desert formations, to farms, lush valleys and wildlife preserves, she wants her paintings to reflect the contrasts she see. The spirituality of the land, the fleeting hope in abandoned spaces, and the duality of man vs. nature.
