Sheppard Contemporary & University Galleries

Sheppard Contemporary & University Galleries are art exhibition spaces located on the campus of University of Nevada, Reno. The flagship gallery at UNR, Sheppard Gallery opened in 1960 and is one of several galleries at UNR, including Galleries South and McNamara Gallery. Sheppard Contemporary & University Galleries maintain close relationships with The Lilley Museum of Art at UNR, and the galleries at UNR-Lake Tahoe campus. Exhibitions feature work from contemporary artists, regional and international, as well as supporting the exhibitions of student artists. The galleries engage the university, the growing Reno arts communities, and the region at large by exhibiting innovative, contemporary art work. The galleries maintain a full and intensive program of professional exhibitions. Sheppard Contemporary is located in the Church Fine Arts Building and is generally open to the public Monday through Thursday, 12 p.m.- 4 p.m., and by appointment. General parking is available in the Brian Whalen Parking garage, located just north of Church Fine Arts. The main entrance to the Brian Whalen Parking garage is located on the east side of North Virginia Street, between 14th Street and 15th Street. Public metered parking is available at the lowest level of the Whalen parking complex, though parking on Saturdays is free.
