African Masks: Youth Arts Workshop with Brent Holmes

Youth ages 9-17 are invited to learn about African mask making traditions and contribute to a sculptural public work at Whitney Recreation Center. Participants will be led by artist Brent Holmes in African mask making traditions, highlighting the regional practices of the Bobo in Burkina Faso. Work will create sculptures that respond to these traditions. Youth participants’ work will then be integrated into a larger public art installation at the center.
