Celebrate stories, family, and creativity at Our Mothers’ Gardens Book Festival—where words bloom live! Bring your friends and family for a fun, inspiring day filled with books, creativity, culinary delights, and community vibes.
Join Nevada Humanities and workshop leaders Mei-Mei Mijares and Niko Mendoza for a zine-making workshop at the Our Mothers’ Gardens Book Festival on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Obodo Urban Farm in Las Vegas. During this drop-in workshop and activity, participants will have the chance to create zines that celebrate our family recipes, stories, and communities in Nevada.
This zine-making workshop is free and open to the public. All materials and instruction will be provided, and no prior experience is needed.
Around the Table programming is produced by Nevada Humanities as part of the national initiative By the People: Conversations Beyond 250, which is a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners, and was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
