Nevada Shakespeare Festival, in partnership with the city of Las Vegas, is bringing a free, full-scale production of “The Taming of the Shrew” to the Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza at Lorenzi Park (720 Twin Lakes Drive) for three nights only: Thursday, Oct. 22 through Saturday, Oct. 24.
With a 12-person cast and a full 2.5-hour running time, this is the same mainstage-caliber production Nevada Shakespeare Festival is known for. Shakespeare’s fierce, funny battle-of-the-sexes farce, adapted with the festival’s signature punk-rock energy, this time staged entirely outdoors and completely free.
Performances are general admission and free to attend. No tickets or reservations required. Organizers expect crowds of up to 400 each night, so guests are encouraged to arrive early, spread a blanket or set up low-back chairs, and purchase food and drink from the on-site food truck “Tacos La Estancia” before the show begins. No glass containers or pets are allowed. Free tickets can be reserved at NSF Presents the Taming of The Shrew.
