The annual Robert Burns event, draws about 600+ attendees from northern Neva­da and northern California, making it one of the largest such events of its kind on the West Coast. The celebration includes a whisky tasting courtesy of Breakthru Beverages, dinner (including that most Scottish of dishes … haggis), presentation of the Scot of the Year, Highland dancers, and a performance by Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band.

The Nevada Society of Scottish Clans is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1982 dedicated to perpetuating ancient customs, literature, music, games and dress of Scotland and its people. The Nevada Society of Scottish Clans promotes Scottish heritage through the annual dinner honoring the memory of Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, sponsors Tartan Day, a summer picnic, Tartan Miniature Golf, a scholarship program and other activities.
