VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and McKinley Galleries
Exhibition: Aug. 5 – Sept. 13, 2024
Reception: Thursday, Aug. 15, 5-7 p.m.
VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System and the City of Reno’s Arts and Culture Department have teamed up to offer veterans a chance to demonstrate their artistic talents in the visual arts at the McKinley Arts & Culture Center Galleries. The local event is part of the 2024 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. The exhibition will run from Aug. 5 – Sept. 13, 2024, at McKinley Arts and Culture Center.
VA medical facilities incorporate creative arts into their therapy programs to further the rehabilitation goals for both inpatients and outpatients. This annual competition recognizes the progress and recovery made through that therapy and raises the visibility of the creative achievements of veterans. The first-place winners will advance to the level where they will compete with entries submitted by Veterans from other VA facilities from across the state for the opportunity to advance to the national level.
