Join Carlos Andrés Gómez (International Book Award-winning author, poet, and educator) for this writing workshop that explores ways to reclaim language as it intersects with asserting our authentic identities and stories while dismantling narratives tied to shame. Gómez will facilitate a close reading of a poem by Angel Nafis and then guide participants through a structured prompt to write their own poems of reclamation. Light refreshments will be served.
