HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

The Target of Opportunity Grant will provide targeted funding to support various Nevada Arts Council initiatives. This grant will be opened on an as needed basis throughout the fiscal year. Specific requirements for each initiative will be included as an addendum to these general guidelines.

All funded projects/activities must be completed by the grant period of performance. Grantees must complete the Final Report online within 45 days of project completion or by the end of the grant period of performance, whichever is first. Agency will provide the period of performance dates upon funding approval.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility requirements will vary depending on the specific funding initiative; however, all applicants must meet the Nevada Arts Council’s general eligibility requirements:

  • INDIVIDUALS
    • Must be at least 21 years old
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal permanent resident status
    • Must be a current Nevada resident and have been in residence for at least one year prior to the date of the grant application 
    • Must not be enrolled as a degree-seeking student
  • ORGANIZATIONS
    • Must be based in Nevada
    • Must have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
    • Must have active incorporation status with the Nevada Secretary of State 
  • PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS (including federally recognized tribes, state or local government, schools, public libraries, and institutions of higher education)
    • Must be based in Nevada
    • Agencies that exist within the same governmental entity are eligible to apply independently when they have different/distinct mission statements and their own separate advisory boards. Multiple departments/facilities within one agency may not apply independently
    • Colleges/universities are limited to no more than one grant to the same academic department per fiscal year
    • Individual schools and libraries within the same district/system may apply independently as long as they have their own budget and facility

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

IMPORTANT: All applying organizations and public institutions must have a Unique Entity ID (UEI) from SAM.gov in alignment with requirements from the National Endowment for the Arts. Please reference the help article Starting Entity Validation as a New Entity in SAM.gov for more information on this process.
