The City of Reno is seeking a visual artist to serve as the City Artist for 2027. This is a one-year appointment beginning January 2027 with a stipend of $3,500. The city artist will curate two exhibitions, give two public talks, speak at City Council, and give consultation for next year’s city artist. The city may also purchase a piece of the artist’s work to add to the City of Reno Metro Art Collection.
The mission of the program is to promote visual artists living in Reno, highlight visual art in the community, and engage the public through visual art.
To apply, candidates must be a Reno resident and able to complete the program requirements.
