Call for Artists: Tony Armstrong Amphitheater Mural (Celebration of America 250)
Website City of Sparks
This call for artists to paint a mural in the Tony Armstrong Amphitheater is managed by the City of Sparks. The city will select one artist/artists team to paint a mural relevant to City of Sparks, Nevada’s history in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
The proposed mural in the city-owned 250-seat outdoor amphitheater is meant to celebrate Sparks’ contribution to the American West, highlighting our historic downtown, celebrating our history, and educating our community and visitors alike about our contribution to building the country as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
The city will unveil the mural with a celebration featuring live music and tours of the historic downtown. A selection panel will recommend one artist/artist team and their design to the Director of Parks and Recreation for selection.
*This project has been funded through a grant from Travel Nevada as part of the America 250 Initiative.*
