Sierra Arts is hiring an entry-level part time program assistant with excellent communications and multi-tasking abilities to perform administrative tasks for its diverse arts education and community driven programs.
The program assistant is responsible for assisting the program director with organizing, planning, budgeting, scheduling, evaluating, data collection, and promoting programs.
Program Assistant Job Description
The program assistant reports directly to the Program Director and provides administrative and planning support to the program director. The job description of a program assistant requires the ability to multitask, a familiarity with basic administrative duties, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The program assistant works well under pressure and adheres to project deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to emails in a timely manner
- Assists with program planning and scheduling
- Assists with evaluations and data collection
- Attends staff meetings
- Assists in creating eNewsletters
- Assists with updating and maintaining program information on website
- Assist with social media postings
- Maintains and inventories art supplies and materials
- Assists with overseeing the budget
- Assists with preparing financial reports
- Assists with preparing final grant reports
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills
- Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exhibits strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Pays close attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Google Suites (Docs, Sheets & Forms)
- Exhibits friendly and professional demeanor
- Works well with a range of different individuals
- Possesses excellent communications and phone etiquette
- Demonstrates ability to think creatively to assist with program planning and marketing
- Demonstrates excellent time management skills
- Flexible work hours for evenings and weekends
- Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required
Work Environment
- The majority of the time will be spent in the main office and training facilities
- Some light local travel to assist with workshops, programs and events
- Moderate physical activity, must be able to lift fifty lbs. and climb stairs
