“Forevermore,” featuring mixed media by Su Limbert of Las Vegas, debuts at the Legislative eXhibition Series Gallery May 18 to June 5 in the Nevada Legislative Building.

The artist said “Forevermore” is a personal narrative exploring themes of childhood, nature and the complexities of relationships. The exhibit is a selection of work from Limbert’s recent solo show of oil paintings on wood cutouts at the Trifecta Gallery in Las Vegas.

“My work evolves from my imagination as I develop each painting. These paintings speak to the unknowable and unpredictable nature of life, and express the complexities of our relationships with friends, family, lovers, and especially within our understanding of ourselves,” Limbert said. Her art continues to explore themes of childhood and her experiences growing up surrounded by forests and lakes, where she developed a love of plants and animals.

Limbert’s work has appeared in numerous locations throughout Las Vegas, including two solo shows at Blackbird Studios, in a window installation for the Contemporary Arts Center’s East Side Project, and during an artist residency at P3 Studios at the Cosmopolitan Resort. She continues to participate in group shows.

Limbert earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a master’s degree in art education at Portland State University. She currently teaches high school and college art courses in Las Vegas.
