Nevada artist Paula Saponaro to speak at “Work of Artists” series at Nevada Legislature
April 26, 2015
Artist and painter Paula M. Saponaro presents the final SENarts “Work of Artists” program for 2015 with “RenoScapes,” from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 7 at the Nevada Legislative Building in Carson City. Saponaro will share insights of her inspiration for her latest series “NV150 RenoScapes,” a portfolio that honors some of the Biggest Little City’s most iconic images.
Saponaro’s paintings investigate the inherent design of Nevada’s high desert landscape as well as characteristics of urban constructions. She uses a combination of media in her signature style, including watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oil, pastel and collage.
A 30-year Nevada resident, Saponaro has shown her work in several western states galleries and corporate exhibits. She lives in Carson City and also creates in a Dayton studio.
“The Work of Artists” is presented by the Nevada Arts Council, a division of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, SENarts and Capital City Arts Initiative. SENarts is a partnership between the Nevada Senate, Nevada Arts Council, Nevada Division of Museums and History and the Brewery Arts Center. In a small and welcoming environment, each artist will offer insight into the work they do, the art they make and the talent it takes to produce their treasures.
The Nevada Legislative Building is at 401 S. Carson St. For more information on the Nevada Arts Council and its programs, contact (775) 687-6680.
