  • Literary Arts

Aleida Castro grew up in Las Vegas, where she has taken classes and taught herself art throughout her life. Her passion for art started when she watched her parents doodle while learning English, having moved from Mexico. Watching them blend education and art ignited her desire to pursue art education.

Castro runs workshops for all ages, with a focus on children’s arts education. She leads workshops at the Discovery Children’s Museum and National History Museum located in Nevada. She has developed workshops for the City of Las Vegas, Office of Cultural Affairs, and active classrooms. Her artwork draws inspiration from her life experiences and the world around her. Growing up as a Mexican American, she connected with her culture as it clashed with the ideals of her home in the United States. Her artwork showcases that clashing as she continues to find her voice between her culture and country of birth.
