Caleb S. Cage is a native of Reno, Nevada, and a veteran of the United States Army. A graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, he served as a field artillery officer from 2002 to 2007, including time as a platoon leader and an information operations battle captain in Iraq. He is the author of Desert Mementos: Stories of  Iraq and Nevada, War Narratives: Shaping Beliefs, Blurring Truths in the Middle East. His essays and fiction have appeared in War, Literature and the Arts, Red Rock Review, High Country News, Small Wars Journal, and various other publications and anthologies.
