Daniela Schnebly Lost and Found – Playing with color, light and form
April 19 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Free
Welcome to my dynamic world of art. My art begins with an original thought, insight into my observations, experiences, and memories, brought together at a moment in time, that will never be repeated. There is only one original, like a human being, it is unique.
This is that moment! Immerse yourself in the freedom of space, the joy of: color, form and light.
“In my studio sessions, I question art itself and continually push the boundaries of artistic expression using my nontraditional materials.”
The license plate is a novel and abundant material that has never been (thoughtfully) elevated to high art.
All of my art, in this exhibit, was made from license plates, technically speaking, your seeing the visual effects of 3M’s retroreflective microprisms (optical elements) formed in the sheeting material that is applied to an aluminum plate, it’s really reflective. 😊
As an advocate of recycling, I know by subtracting materials that would have ended up in a landfill, I’ve lowered my carbon footprint. Besides all that good stuff, I am fascinated with uncommon materials because every imperfection and place of origin tells an incredible story by adding it’s tactile details along with loads of visual interest to my works.
