The award-winning Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company brings the renowned masterwork, Fiddler on the Roof, to the Carson City Community Center weekends, Nov. 7-23.

This humorous and touching musical follows Tevye, a poor Jewish dairyman, and his wife, Golde, as they struggle to embrace family and traditions in the face of a changing world. As each of his three eldest daughters marries, Tevye finds that he is forced to choose between their time-worn customs and the children he loves. This heartwarming, poignant story is set in the fictional Jewish village of Anatevka, located in the Pale of Settlement in Imperial Russia. The plot unfolds on the eve of the Russian Revolution, a time of political upheaval that included anti-Jewish pogroms.

Winner of multiple Tony Awards, the production features such classics as If I Were A Rich Man, Sunrise, Sunset, Matchmaker, and Tradition, accompanied by an 11-piece professional orchestra.

WNMTC has recently purchased the Auri Listen system for the hearing impaired. To request one, ask at the sound booth when entering the theater.

Advance ticket purchase is strongly advised, especially for the matinees, as the last two WNMTC productions – The Sound of Music and Celebrate the Magic – sold out.
