Clark County Public Art is thrilled to announce our upcoming exhibition, Living in the Dessert juried by Brian “Paco” Alvarez in the Rotunda Gallery, nestled within the Clark County Government Center.
A spin on the common misspellings of desert and dessert, Living in the Dessert is an exhibition that fuses our arid environment with the indulgent treats that most enjoy eating — especially the cold variety during months like these! The artists selected portrayed this fusion in creative and innovative ways using a wide array of mediums. You will see work that either brings the desert into the denseness of desserts or desserts into the dreamscape of the desert!
This exhibition is juried by Las Vegas native Brian “Paco” Álvarez, an entrepreneur, anthropologist, and CEO of Psionic Art Works. He holds a master’s degree in urban leadership from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology, and has worked at various institutions, including the Liberace Museum, Neon Museum, and Zappos.com.
