An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, repeating until November 30, 2025

This group exhibition brings together a broad selection of local printmakers with a range of backgrounds, including members of the Laika Press studio, workshop attendees, printmaking mentors, art students, professional artists, and more. All manner of printmaking processes are represented here, including screen print/serigraphy, monotype, linocut, letterpress, collagraph, mokuhanga and woodblock relief, mezzotint, copper plate etching, and techniques including multi block and reduction relief, chine colle, aquatint, rainbow roll, and a la poupée inking. By showcasing this work in the community space of the Downtown Library, Under Pressure is a celebration of Northern Nevada printmakers and contemporary applications of traditional technologies for message-making and the wide distribution of images for consumption by the masses. This work reflects these artists’ myriad experiences in our region and beyond, drawing imagery from landscapes, dreams, relationships, and stories to create handmade prints.
On view and open to the public at the Downtown Reno Gallery from Oct. 6-Nov. 30, 2025, during regular library hours. Reception open to the public will be held Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
