JOB OPPORTUNITY – COMMUNITY ARTS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The Nevada Arts Council is in the process of hiring the following position:

 

Community Arts Development Associate in the Las Vegas office. Serving all regions of the state, the Community Arts Development (CAD) Program provides training, assistance, and networking opportunities for local arts agencies, community organizations, and public institutions to advance partnerships, grow local cultural programing and increase participation in the arts for residents and visitors. The CAD Associate supports this objective by contributing to the production of short and long-term programs, services, and partnerships to meet the needs of Nevada’s local arts agencies, public institutions, communities and arts organizations.

CAD support arts and cultural organizations with all phases of organizational development — from the inception of a community program to developing organizational skills through long-range planning, board development and cultural assessment. Its statewide initiatives, designed to enhance the livability and uniqueness of community, include the Nevada Circuit Riders Program, Arts@the Heart Conference, Nevada Presenters Network, Arts Town Meetings, strategic planning, and technical assistance to communities across the state.

The Associate’s responsibilities, as assigned by the NAC Executive Director, include assisting with program development and assessment; providing individualized technical assistance and skills training for local arts agencies, communities and community arts organizations on a wide variety of topics; planning and facilitation of public meetings, workshops and conferences; agency-wide strategic planning; the production of agency’s quarterly newsletter, grants and funding proposals, articles and publications; and collaborations with other programs on agency-wide activities.

The Associate provides assistance to applicants for several Nevada Arts Council grant categories as a program specialist in community development as part of the agency’s’ grant management process. These grant categories include, but are not limited to Nevada Circuit Rider Grants, Professional Development Grants, Partners in Excellence Grants and Project grants. Additionally, the position assists in the maintenance of statistical information related to CAD grants, services and constituents for agency database, state and federal reporting, and various agency publications.
