2026 Semiquincentennial Art Project

Website City of Elko
In 2026, our nation will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This milestone presents a special opportunity to reflect on our nation’s past, honor the contributions of all Americans, and envision the future we aim to create for generations to come (America250). To mark the Nation’s Semiquincentennial, the City of Elko Arts and Culture Advisory Board invites qualified artists to submit proposals for the creation of a permanent art installation in celebration of this historic event.
Project Details:

Installation: The sculpture will be installed on a half circle concrete slab on the East side of 6th Street in the Elko Downtown Parking Corridor.
Materials: The sculpture must be constructed from materials durable enough to withstand all weather conditions. Public safety must be taken into consideration as it will be accessible to the public.
