The new and final date for the Congressional Art Show will be Friday, April 24 at 5310 Kietzke Lane. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and winners will be announced promptly at 5:45 p.m.

Our office will begin accepting digital submissions from Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17. Each submission must include the completed application paperwork. These digital submissions will allow us to curate a PowerPoint presentation that will be used during the judging process.

This year, we are excited to introduce a “People’s Choice” Award. Once submissions are compiled, we will share the PowerPoint with participating educators so that students can vote on their favorite pieces. Voting will remain open until Thursday, April 23.

This year, our office will recognize 23 student artists across several categories:

  • 1st–5th Place: 9th Grade
  • 1st–5th Place: 10th Grade
  • 1st–5th Place: 11th Grade
  • 1st–5th Place: 12th Grade
  • People’s Choice Award
  • America 250 Award (Most Patriotic)
  • Best of Show (Overall Winner)

All entries must be original in concept, design and execution and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Any entry that has been copied from an existing photo or image (including a painting, graphic, or advertisement) that was created by someone other than the student is a violation of the competition rules and will not be accepted. Work entered must be in the original medium (that is, not a scanned reproduction of a painting or drawing).

The rules, checklist, and release form for the competition are scheduled to be posted in early February on House.gov.
