Nevada Arts Council’s 2016 artist fellowship honorable mention grantee Nick Larsen featured in Fallon
Nick Larsen, 2016 Nevada Arts Council artist fellowship honorable mention grantee, joins Timothy Conder and Omar Pierce in a three-person art installation at the Oats Park Arts Center’s E. L. Wiegand Gallery in Fallon through March 12. A reception for the artists is Jan. 30 from 5-7 p.m.

All long-time residents of northern Nevada, the artists examine the possibility of leaving in “I Wonder If I Care as Much.” The exhibition will feature pieces created both individually and collaboratively, drawing on each other’s talents in large-scale sculpture, sewn fabric/paper collage, film photography and video.

Nick Larsen earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2007. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions, including the Sierra Arts Gallery and Nevada Museum of Art. Larsen moved to Durham, Pennsylvania to work at Durham Press, a fine art print publisher, as the associate director. He returned to Reno to start Sleepytime Projects, a publishing enterprise with the intent of producing publications, DVDs, audio recordings and print portfolios conceived as artworks. In his own work, Larsen incorporates two-dimensional printmaking techniques, particularly screen-printing and photo-letterpress, and three-dimensional sculptural materials.
