The Carson City Culture & Tourism Authority (“CTA”) invites qualified persons to submit proposals for 3D Project Cultural Corridor Executive Director, not to exceed one hundred twenty thousand dollars ($120,000.00) for the anticipated period of January 8, 2025 to October 8, 2026. Proposals shall be submitted in accordance with the Documents and Requirements as set forth in the formal “Request for Proposal.” The Contract that will result from this “Request for Proposal” will include what is indicated in 4.1 of this RFP.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Travel Nevada’s Destination Development Demonstration (3D) Project provided rural communities across Nevada with the opportunity to expand their tourism economies through an eight-month process of discovery and reflection with their expert team of consultants followed by a project implementation phase funded through grants by Travel Nevada. In April 2024, The Cultural Corridor’s 10-year Destination Plan was completed. On October 8, 2026, Nevada Commission on Tourism awarded Carson City Culture & Tourism Authority the Destination Development Demonstration (3D) Cohort 2 grant. This grant awards funding for an Executive Director to assist with the formation of a non-profit alliance with representatives from each community, provide leadership and vision, driving the mission, goals, and long-term objectives, and ensuring that the non-profit has a clear and actionable plan, develop operational systems and establish programming and processes that align with the nonprofit goals and regulatory requirements. The Executive Director will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and organizing fundraising events and serve as the primary representative of the organization, building relationships with community leaders, artists, makers, and partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders. They will take the lead in implementing the 10-year destination plan and other initiatives.
SCOPE OF WORK
The primary purpose of this role is to drive the development and implementation of a world-class regional arts and culture corridor between Carson Valley, Carson City, Silver City, and Virginia City areas. This important alliance brings together unique destinations and assets with the goal of linking arts, culture, and heritage individuals, organizations, sites, and events throughout the region, creating a unique arts and culture destination. The Executive Director will work closely with the Cultural Corridor Board to establish and manage the nonprofit Cultural Corridor organization, strategic plan, funding and budget, support tourism, and develop and execute programming to fulfill the Mission.
